THE 18th Haul of KH Zaini Bin Abdul Ghani, also known as Guru Sekumpul, was held on January 26th at the residence of South Kalimantan Governor Sahbirin Noor in Keramat Village, East Martapura District, Banjar Regency. The event was attended by thousands of pilgrims and the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, Ma’ruf Amin.
The event began with Isha prayer and the recitation of verses from the Qur’an, setting the spiritual tone for the gathering. This was followed by speeches from the Governor and the presentation of manaqib, or the reading of the biography of Abah Guru Sekumpul, by KH M Wildan Salman. The Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, Ma’ruf Amin, also delivered greetings to the pilgrims.
In his speech, VP Ma’ruf Amin conveyed that Abah Guru Sekumpul, or KH Muhammad Zaini Abdul Ghani, was a respected and righteous person. He expressed gratitude for the opportunity to attend the haul and wished for blessings from the ulama and a righteous person.
The 18th Haul of KH Zaini Bin Abdul Ghani was organized by South Kalimantan Governor Sahbirin Noor with the aim of addressing the deep homesickness of the people and celebrating the life and teachings of the respected ulema and righteous person. “It’s been about 3 years that we haven’t felt an atmosphere like today, which is usually carried out every year by the people of Banua,” said the man who is familiarly called Uncle Birin.
The Governor emphasized the importance of preserving the teachings of Abah Guru Sekumpul and passing them on to future generations.
The event was also attended by Pangdam VI Mulawarman Mayjen TNI Tri Budi Utomo, who stated that security had been prepared according to the standard operational procedure (SOP) in collaboration with the Presidential Security Force to ensure the safety of the pilgrims, especially during the arrival of the Vice President.
The pilgrims were not only from South Kalimantan but also from other provinces in Indonesia, who came to pay their respects to Abah Guru Sekumpul. They came from various backgrounds, including religious leaders, community leaders, and ordinary people. It was an emotional and spiritual occasion that brought the community together and provided an opportunity to celebrate the life and teachings of a respected ulama and righteous person.
